1. Data controller
For processing generated by the operation of this project microsite, the controller is:
Focus Europe ETS
Via Giovanni Verga, 10
95041 Caltagirone (CT) – Italy
Email: privacy@focuseurope.org
Focus Europe ETS has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Privacy requests may be sent to the address above.
2. Browsing data, hosting and security
The systems used to deliver the website may process technical data required for connectivity and security, such as IP address, request date and time, requested resource, browser/device information and technical or security events.
Purposes: website delivery, security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and infrastructure protection. Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest in operating and securing the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The website is hosted on Netsons infrastructure. According to the provider’s published documentation, hosting backups may be retained for up to 31 days. Technical logs are retained according to service operation, security and configuration needs.
3. Website features
The microsite documents the Romanico Sardegna project, funded by Fondazione di Sardegna and dedicated to the territories of Ardara, Borutta and Codrongianos. The prepared configuration contains no contact forms, newsletter, analytics, interactive maps, user accounts or advertising pixels.
The Municipality of Ardara is identified on the website as the entity requesting the grant. This notice concerns only processing generated by the operation of the microsite managed by Focus Europe ETS and does not assign privacy roles for independent activities that may be carried out by the organisations involved in the project.
4. Cookies and external content
The website code does not intentionally set first-party cookies for profiling, measurement or advertising. The YouTube video is not loaded automatically: it is replaced by a local placeholder and activated only after an affirmative user action. The choice is not stored in cookies or local storage and can be withdrawn on the same page.
After voluntary activation, the browser connects to YouTube/Google through youtube-nocookie.com. Activation may still result in technical data being communicated and further processing by the provider.
5. Photographs, videos and publication
The website provides photographs of the basilicas and territories, three project videos and the publication I Gioielli del Romanico – Le Basiliche di Ardara, Borutta, Codrongianos. Some of these materials are retained in the Wix Media Manager archive used for the previous project website.
Graphic and photographic assets referenced by the microsite may therefore be loaded from static.wixstatic.com. The three MP4 videos are requested from video.wixstatic.com only when a user chooses to play them. The PDF publication is opened from a Wix/Usrfiles domain only when the user selects its link. These requests may transmit normal technical connection data to the relevant providers.
If a person believes that an image or other material concerning them should be reviewed, updated or removed, they may contact privacy@focuseurope.org and identify the relevant content.
6. Recipients and transfers
Data may be processed by authorised Focus Europe ETS personnel and collaborators and, where necessary to provide the services, by technical providers. The browser may connect to Wix services to deliver certain media assets; only after voluntary activation of the YouTube video are the technical data required for that connection communicated to YouTube/Google. Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area on the basis of the transfer mechanisms described in their respective privacy notices.
7. Third-party links and services
Links to external websites open independent services subject to their own privacy notices. For YouTube/Google: Google Privacy Policy. For Wix: Wix Privacy Policy. For Netsons: Netsons Privacy Policy.
8. Your rights
Where provided by the GDPR, individuals may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and may withdraw consent without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
Requests may be sent to privacy@focuseurope.org. Individuals also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.
9. Updates
This notice refers to the technical configuration prepared for the 7 October 2026 release. If new services are added, the notice and relevant choices will be updated before activation.
